Cedar Inn on Lake Harris

Welcome to the Cedar Inn home page

Located just off Route 28N in the quiet town of Newcomb, NY, the Cedar Inn on Lake Harris provides all the atmosphere of a small, turn of the century country inn with amenities you might not expect to find. Completely refurbished in 1999, we have five bedrooms, each with a double bed and private bath. One of the rooms also has bunk beds and is spacious enough to easily accommodate a family of four.

The first floor provides plenty of room to find a quiet corner or to mingle with other guests. The central lobby adjoins a 10 seat dining room on one end and a lovely, wainscotted parlor with a large stone fireplace on the other. Lots of comfortable chairs abound, along with books, cards, puzzles and board games. And our large, wraparound front porch provides the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee.

Outside, a short walk through the woods will take you to our private beach on beautiful Lake Harris where you will find canoes, kayaks and rowboats available free of charge to our guests. Instruction and assistance are, of course, always provided when needed.

Owned and operated by a third generation Adirondack native, the Cedar Inn on Lake Harris is a great place to relax and enjoy a real Adirondack vacation, located just minutes from some of the most spectacular hiking, camping, canoeing, kayaking and mountain biking to be found anywhere. For the less adventurous, horse and wagon rides into Santanoni great camp are available right next door and, with advance notice, seaplane rides for groups of four or more can be arranged directly from our beach.

Guests are greeted each morning with a full, cooked-to-order breakfast as well as an assortment of coffee, teas and juices. Eggs, pancakes, waffles and french toast are always available and omelets are our specialty. Dinner can be provided at additional charge with advance notice.

The Cedar Inn on Lake Harris is located in Newcomb, NY on the north side of Route 28N, between the school and the town offices, just two miles from the Visitor Interpretive Center. The Adirondack Museum is a 25 minute drive and, even though we're in the heart of the High Peaks region, the Northway is only 35 minutes away.

We're open seasonally from the beginning of July until the first of October. Drop ins are welcome, but reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. To make reservations, give us a call at (518) 582-3673 or email us at cedarinnguy@hotmail.com. Be sure to leave a phone number so we can call back to confirm your reservations.
